Terms of Service

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of the Stroma website (stroma.design) and the free Snapshot report service. By submitting a Snapshot request, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Stroma Consulting (Pty) Ltd (Reg. 2026/076918/07) is a private company registered in the Republic of South Africa, operating from Johannesburg, Gauteng.
Director: Jonathan Booysen
Email: hello@stroma.design

Stroma is not currently a member of any self-regulatory or accreditation body. Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

2. The Snapshot service

The Snapshot is a free performance assessment of a publicly accessible website. We analyse your site's performance against real device, network and data-cost conditions relevant to your target market, and deliver a report including performance scores, a severity index, technical findings and estimated revenue impact.

Reports are typically delivered within 2–3 business days, though this is an estimate and not a guarantee. We reserve the right to decline any submission at our discretion.

3. Cancellation

As the Snapshot is a free service, you may cancel your request at any time prior to the delivery of the report. To cancel, email hello@stroma.design with the URL you submitted, and we will stop processing your request and delete any associated data.

4. Eligibility

By submitting a URL, you confirm that:

5. Revenue estimates and disclaimers

The revenue-impact figures in your Snapshot report are directional estimates, not guarantees. They are calculated using publicly available performance data, peer-reviewed research and the business metrics you provide (or industry benchmarks where you do not).

Specifically:

Stroma does not provide financial, legal or investment advice. The Snapshot is a performance diagnostic, not an audit or warranty.

6. Intellectual property

Your report: the content of your Snapshot report (data, findings, recommendations) is yours to use, share with your team and act upon as you see fit.

Our methodology: the Stroma scoring algorithms, Bleed Index methodology, analysis engine, templates and branding remain the intellectual property of Stroma Consulting (Pty) Ltd. You may not reproduce, reverse-engineer or redistribute the methodology itself.

Public performance data: the Snapshot analyses publicly accessible performance metrics sourced from Google PageSpeed Insights and the Chrome User Experience Report. This data is freely available to anyone and is not subject to any restrictions under these terms. Our analysis only assesses front-end, client-side performance and does not require or request access to your servers, databases or proprietary backend code.

Aggregated data: we may use anonymised, aggregate findings from Snapshot analyses to produce industry benchmarks, research, case studies and published content. Published material will never identify you, your company or your website. No personally identifiable information, company names, URLs or business metrics you provide will be included without your explicit written consent.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, and excluding cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct:

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Stroma Consulting (Pty) Ltd from any claims, damages or expenses arising from your breach of these terms, including submitting URLs for websites you are not authorised to have analysed.

10. Paid engagements

Any paid advisory work (Performance Sprint, Embedded Advisor, Ongoing Retainer) is governed by a separate statement of work or service agreement. These terms apply to the free Snapshot and website use only.

11. Records

Records of your submission and report are retained as described in our Privacy Policy. You may request access to your records at any time by emailing hello@stroma.design.

12. Alternative dispute resolution

In the event of a dispute, we will first attempt to resolve it through direct communication. If we cannot reach a resolution, either party may refer the matter to mediation before pursuing formal legal proceedings.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising from or relating to these terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
